Editing update, Rain scene;

I have had a lot of issues with the availability and reliability of my main actress as she no longer attends my college anymore, so I knew Iw as going to have an issue in the scene which required rain and was storyboarded to be filmed on a reall life rainy day.

I had the idea to film my actress in the same costume over a green screen to then edit in the appearance of a rainy day but this process would be very difficult as I am editing at home and have not had any experience in using effects for green screen.

I was really starting to panic as to what I would do to fill this gap in my video as I had been un able to re-shoot. I searched online to see if I could find a downloadable plug in which would have a pre-made effect I could use but this resulted with nothing.

I found a tutorial on youtube which shows how to create the look of artificial rain fall which is fairly subtle to the eye. I followed the tutorial step by step as I edited and I am very happy with the overall result. It has saved a lot of time and stress.

Here is the tutorial from Youtube.

Editing Update;

Completed another large edit today from 3pm til 9pm.
Finished the majority of my music video aside from a couple of scene I need to re-shoot and edit with the media technicians help at college.
Had a very large issue with the editing today, some of the original footage had bene moved to another folder as it is on my dads computer. I was unaware the files had been moved and it took around 2 hours to find, re-import them and then edit again.

I am going to be taking my video in on my iPad to show my teacher and the technician to gain feedback and help on how to improve it.

Poster ideas;

This is the simplest of my two poster ideas, I wanted to create something that would be eyecatching but nothing too over complicated or cluttered. I chose to use the same image as my website design to keep with the overall style of the bulk promotion. The image is relatable to the music video so if the audience had seen the video then seen this advert they would be able to place the image to the song. But the image also works if the audience had not seen the video as its mise-en-scene connotes the era of the video (circa 40's/50s) and implies the genre of the album and the songs. The title of the album 'Pretty Odd' is the existing title of the album by the artist and it also connotes that the music is not typical mainstream (pop and R 'n' B) and that is is, 'Pretty Odd'.
This is the more complex poster I designed. This would not be my main advert in the campeign as it does not fit the typical conventions of a poster, it included the track listing of the album and a smaller image of the first poster. This would be an advert I would place on the website in the description of the album. The image again relates back to the music video as it features one of the characters from it and is also in the same location that the video was shot.
